As the PC government fights off proposed tax hikes at the federal level, Wab Kinew is pushing for even more taxes on Manitobans.
In an October debate on the federal small business tax hike, Kinew said this in the legislature:
“Specifically, there’s no part of the discussion paper that calls for an estate tax or an inheritance tax in Canada…”
Manitobans were previously subject to an “estate tax” – better known as a death tax by the Schreyer NDP in 1971. It was eliminated in 1977.
Far from a “new direction”, Wab Kinew is just promising more of the same failed tax-and-spend NDP policies.
